Ensembl will retire Microarray Probe Mapping annotation in 2026. 

Expression microarrays have been used to measure the expression levels of large numbers of genes simultaneously. Ensembl has annotated expression microarrays, mapping probe sequences to the reference genome and transcripts for arrays with probe sequences in a public archive.

As we continue with the development of our new website and tools, we will not be upgrading or maintaining the existing pipelines for probe mapping. We plan to update probe mapping for the last time in Ensembl release 116.

Existing probe mapping annotation will continue to be available via Ensembl Archive sites.
