What’s coming in Ensembl release 108 / Ensembl Genomes 55?

Ensembl 108 and Ensembl Genomes 55 are expected to be released in September 2022. Check out what we are up to, although we cannot guarantee everything listed here will make it into the final release.

Human

  • Changes will be made in the default tracks in the Location view: cDNAs, EST cluster (UniGene) and CCDS not displayed by default when MANE Select is available.

Vertebrates

Updated genomes:

  • Mitochondrial annotation for Sarcophilus harrisii (Tasmanian devil, mSarHar1.11) will be added.
  • RNASeq tracks including data from GeneSWitCH consortium for Gallus gallus (chicken) reference (GRCg7b) and chicken breed (GRCg7w) will be added.
